SPEAK IN_UX returns with a question that rarely comes up at product meetings: what happens to the user when our project works? Two days, ten speeches and one thesis - effective design and good design are not always the same thing.

SPEAK IN_UX is a conference about designing experiences and what these experiences do to people: their attention, habits, sense of control over their own time.

From the team’s point of view, everything is fine. The numbers are growing, the goal achieved, no one reports the problem. But the cost exists. It is only carried by someone else and is not in any list. A mechanism that was supposed to engage and begins to become addictive. The path we have simplified for one person at the expense of another. A product designed for someone no one has ever met. This year we are asking how to recognize such situations and what to do about them.

The first day is dedicated to effectiveness and its costs: how gamification and the pursuit of results affect design decisions, why people behave differently than we assumed, and how AI changes the role of the designer.

On the second day, we also talk about accessibility, mental health and cognitive differences, because not everyone perceives information the same way. All three are design requirements equivalent to the deadline, budget and result, in practice pushed to the end of the list or falling out of it altogether.

Lectures are the beginning of conversation. After blocks of speeches, we meet with speakers on stage and check what they agree on and what they do not agree on. There is also time for questions and conversations between participants.

What will you find out?

myśleć how to think about the effects of the project when the user has long gone beyond the screen
warto when it is worth intentionally hindering someone’s way and how to do it with your head
what changes in the designer’s work with AI
ować how to design solutions that can be trusted within reasonable limits
Who do you really design for if you check the product mainly on yourself and on the team
What UX can learn from psychology, cognitive science and neuroscience
