Opening of a stationary One Stop Shop space, signing a declaration of cooperation with the Metropolis and talks on financing, technology and startup development. On October 29, Gdańsk Bay Tech Access Day was held in Starter, which brought together founders, investors, industry representatives and international innovation ecosystems.

The event showed how Gdańsk Bay Tech translates the potential of the Pomeranian technological environment into concrete actions. Launched in May during Infoshare, the initiative brings together around 150 organisations and 370 people. Its aim is to facilitate cooperation between startups, investors, companies, universities and institutions supporting entrepreneurship.

One of the most important moments of Access Day was the official opening of the Gdańsk Bay Tech One Stop Shop in STARTER. It is a point of first contact that helps to identify the needs of entrepreneurs and connect them with the right experts, business partners, investors or support programs. During the event, the Gdańsk Entrepreneurship Foundation and the Gdańsk-Gdynia-Sopot Metropolitan Area also signed a declaration of cooperation for the development of the regional innovation ecosystem.

The program of the event focused on practical challenges of building technology companies. During the Founder Conversation Piotr Mazur (PayMove), Sebastian Mul (AgentX / Księgoboty.pl) and Mateusz Serdyński (Vidoc Security Lab) shared their experiences of startup development. Representatives of ORLEN Skylight Accelerator and Base Group talked about the technological needs of the industry and the possibilities of cooperation with startups.

The investment decisions were discussed by representatives of SMOK Ventures, VO2 Ventures, Movens Capital and FNP Ventures, and a separate panel was devoted to the role of business angels. International guests from the Global Startup Awards, MeOut Group, PolishTech Berlin, Startup Aarhus, StartSmart CEE and Endeavor Poland discussed how to open the door to foreign markets for Pomeranian companies.

The practical dimension of the event was complemented by workshops on fundraising, sales and business scaling as well as the presentation of AFleet –, a Pomeranian startup developing unmanned marine units, whose history shows the importance of acceleration and cooperation with industry.

Access Day was another step in building an ecosystem where contacts translate into concrete opportunities for the development of technology companies.
