Investor Ready #1 | Does your startup really need VC?

VC, bootstrap or other sources of financing – how to get capital into the company's strategy? Getting an investor is not always the best step for a startup. Before you start building a pitch deck, arrange meetings with funds and plan a round, it is worth answering a more basic question: what kind of financing does your business really need – and is VC the right way?

During the first open meeting under Investor Ready, we will look at various ways of financing the development of the startup and how the choice of capital affects the company's strategy, growth rate and the role of the founder. The meeting will be led by Jan Wyrwiński, who will look at the topic from both sides of the table – as a funder and VC investor. This way, we will not only talk about what the investor expects from the startup, but also about when the adoption of external capital actually supports the development of the company and when it is worth considering another path.

It's not gonna be a meeting about how to get an investor at all costs. We want to help the funders knowingly assess whether, when and what capital their company needs. For who?

The meeting is open to startups, funders and teams from Tricity and Pomerania. You don't have to be qualified for the Slush mission or participate in the rest of the Road to Slush. This is an open part of Investor Ready, which you can use regardless of where your startup is at.

Leading Jan Wyrwiński – technology entrepreneur, funder and VC investor. It combines the experience of building and scaling its own companies with the perspective of an investor analyzing startups and their potential for development. During the meeting, it will show how to look at the financing decision simultaneously from the perspective of the funder and the fund.

Investor Ready is a Gdańsk Bay Tech program that prepares startups for a more informed approach to finance, talks with investors and the use of international business opportunities.
